── MOVE ONE OF THREE · TAME THE GIANT

Before you hire, before you sell: Tame the GIANT.

GIANT is the systems method behind every entry in the Build Log: how a problem becomes a build, and a build becomes a motion. It is move one of the Sales Operator's three, because everything else depends on its first letter: understand what you are solving, and for who.

── WHY IT COMES FIRST

Most GTM mistakes are order-of-operations mistakes. We hire before we understand what we are solving for. We buy tools before we map the data. We build motions around a team instead of building the team around the problem. The work is usually right; the sequence is wrong.

I have paid for that sequence error personally. On the product channel, I bought the intent tool before I mapped the events, and it was powerful and useless in the same month. Running I before G is the most expensive mistake in this whole method, and it is the one everyone makes first.

So GIANT is the first move on purpose. Ground the problem until you can name it, place it, and price it. Only then do you know what it takes, what the machine should run, what the humans should keep, and what profile to hire against. Tame the GIANT first, and the team you RAISE and the deals you PLAN are built on something real.

── 01 / THE FIVE MOVES

Drop a problem in the top and run the five.

G
Ground the real problem

The root, not the symptom, named where it actually lives, with a number on it. Most builds die here, by solving the wrong thing well. Grounding also answers the question everything downstream depends on: what are we actually solving, and for who?

I
Identify what it takes

The right tech, data, and context, in that order of honesty. Most people start with the tech because it is the easiest to buy. The data and the context are where builds actually live or die. The tool is only as powerful as the data you feed it.

A
Assign the work

What is the AI's job, what is the human's job. The Split, drawn on purpose: repeatable and safe goes to the machine; context, relationship, and consequence stay human. Reps in the room, not out of it.

N
Normalize it

Enable the team and distribute it until it is the default way of working, not a side experiment. Tiger team first, comp and goals moving with the motion, a named cadence. A build without a motion is dead.

T
Tie it back

Into the system, so it compounds. Every build has a receipt, and the receipt feeds the next Ground. The relay loop lives here: deals and calls teach product, marketing, and sales, so each hands the next a better baton.

── 02 / THE MASTER LINE

The Split: the line inside the A.

CUT THE DRAG TO THE MACHINE

The repeatable, safe execution: enrich, route, log, assemble, score, summarize. High volume, low judgment. The machine runs it so people stop pushing it by hand.

KEEP THE JUDGMENT WITH THE PEOPLE

The calls that carry context, relationship, taste, or consequence stay human, on purpose, with the context and tools to do them well. The keep is the point. The team gets stronger, not just cheaper.

Where the line sits is the whole argument, and it moves as the models improve. The Split is a live decision, redrawn per workflow. Say both halves out loud, every time.

── 03 / WHAT GOOD LOOKS LIKE

Each letter has a weak version and a strong one.

Most teams believe they run all five. The weak column is what running them in name only sounds like. If any of these sound familiar, that letter is where the next build dies.

G · THE GROUNDING
WEAK

We need more pipeline. A symptom, named where it hurts instead of where it lives.

STRONG

Stage-two conversion dropped in one segment after the pricing change, and it costs a known amount per quarter. The problem named, placed, and priced.

I · THE IDENTIFY
WEAK

Buy the tool first. It demos well, and buying feels like progress.

STRONG

Tech, data, context, in that order of honesty. I bought the intent tool before I mapped the events once: powerful and useless in the same month.

A · THE ASSIGNMENT
WEAK

Automate everything we can.

STRONG

The Split drawn on purpose: enrich, route, log, and score go to the machine; the calls carrying context, relationship, and consequence stay human. Both halves said out loud.

N · THE NORMALIZE
WEAK

A side experiment two enthusiasts run after hours.

STRONG

A tiger team first, comp and goals moving with the motion, a named cadence, and a date when it becomes the default way of working.

T · THE TIE BACK
WEAK

Shipped and celebrated. Nobody checked the number.

STRONG

A receipt against the baseline, and the receipt feeds the next Ground. The loop is why the second build costs half of what the first one did.

── 04 / WHERE IT RUNS

Every build in the log runs the same five.

Every build page opens with its GIANT card, every workflow board is grouped G to T, and every letter ends on the strip. The method is not a poster here; it is the site's skeleton.

── RUN THE METHOD

The method is yours. The boards, the playbooks, and the skills come with the subscribe.

One story a week on putting AI to work in sales, the right way. Every build runs GIANT, and every playbook shows you how to run it yourself.
